Mushroom production has become one of the most profitable and least expensive projects in the Arab world, especially for those with small savings; in addition, such practices can be implemented in small spaces in the house. The demand for the Mushroom product has increased in the Arab countries after it had been referred to as the “meat of the poor” because of its low prices and containing the same protein components of meat. Mushrooms can be cultivated on the lands that cannot be planted and are usually wasted. These lands are transformed after the exploitation of mushroom cultivation to more protein-rich than it was originally. The aim of this briefing is to present the mushroom within the framework of the plan to introduce and disseminate it in Palestine and to make use of the local resources, despite their limitations, in order to create new job opportunities and improve the standard of living of the Palestinian families.
