“Beib El Shouf” is the first self-sustainable cultural center in Lebanon located in the valleys of the Chouf to be the cradle of the project, between the villages of Bshetfin and Kfarfakoud.The center is an eductional center aiming at raising environmental awareness and promoting a new eco-friendly and sustainable building model. Therefore, the center produces its own energy, leaving little to no carbon footprint; it also has its own sewage treatment and containment system. El sime is managed by March NGO which strives to make this project a learning pedestal for environmentalism and sustainable living by periodically offering technical workshops including permaculture, cultivating sustainable landscapes, recycling/up cycling, green economics among others.
