Technology Transfer
The second priority topic that emerged from the Knowledge and Information Needs Assessment Study undertaken by KariaNet is Technology Transfer. This theme found its justification in the evident fact that almost all IFAD-funded projects in the region develop agriculture (crops and animal husbandry) through the demonstration and promotion of a set of innovations and practices, able to improve productivity and on-farm income.
However, given the wide meaning of this topic, it requires more focus in order to define which are the main crops and animal productions promoted by KariaNet member projects, which practices are concerned, and so on… in order to establish required linkages with proven sources of knowledge and information available in the region.
This is why KariaNet seeks always to update its knowledge on the main issues to be considered under Technology Transfer. One of the main activities KariaNet intends to organise is the 3rd Annual Thematic Workshop in Cairo (late October 2007).
