Monitoring & Evaluation represents the fifth priority topic as demonstrated by the Knowledge and Information Needs Assessment Study. The topic is justified given that all IFAD-funded projects in the region need not only to setup a sound Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system and run them efficiently to steer the project activities and take corrective measures in due time.

This is why KariaNet seeks always to encourage knowledge exchange between its members on this topic. In this perspective, KariaNet organised the 1st Annual Thematic Workshop in Hammamet, Tunisia (20-24 September 2005), which brought in the different experiences of the member projects on Monitoring & Evaluation.
